Pinion Stands QTY 33
Combination pinion stands are mechanical gear drives that transfer torque from a motor to two parallel rolls of a two high rolling mill. Unlike a typical straight thru pinion stand with a 1:1 gear ratio that has a single input shaft and two output shafts, a combination 2 high pinion stand has additional internal gearing which reduces the speed of the output shafts. Combination pinion stands are the combination of a gear reducer and a pinion stand in one unit. The output shaft speed and torque are proportional to the reduction ratio of the internal gearing. Combination pinion stands are generally used when space constraints limit the drive arrangement for a bar mill or a cold mill.
