PRESSES - STRAIGHTENING QTY 0
Casey sells various types of straightening presses. Straightening presses are rated by the amount of force that can be exerted on the workpiece, usually in tons. Press straightening is accomplished using three points of contact on the workpiece. These points are referred to as anvils and are designed to be replaceable as they wear. Two of the anvils are located on one side of the work piece and in most cases the distance between these anvils can be varied. They are referred to as the stationary anvils because they do not move during the straightening operation. The third anvil is on the opposite side of the workpiece and moves toward and away from the workpiece. The two stationary anvils are equidistant apart from the centerline of the moveable anvil. Straightening is accomplished by the moveable anvil contacting the workpiece then bending it beyond the elastic limit to induce permanent set into the material being straightened. Straightening presses can be either horizontal or vertical depending on the orientation of the moveable anvil. Some presses have single housing as the main frame while others may use two to four posts to connect the top and bottom press sections together. Straightening presses can be driven by either hydraulic or electromechanical action. Straightening presses are also referred to as gag presses and may be equipped with rotators to lift and rotate the workpiece so that it can be straightened in all planes.. Straightening presses are capable of straightening most sections regardless of geometry. Contact Casey Equipment for a quote on used straightening presses for sale.
