FURNACE VALVES (2)
TAP HOLE DRILLS (2)
There are many components used in the production of molten iron in a blast furnace. A blast furnace converts iron ore into hot metal, or pig iron, which will be tapped and transported to another part of the plant for conversion into steel. A tap hole drill removes the plug in the tap hole so the molten iron can be tapped and directed by troughs towards the torpedo car. Once the furnace is tapped, the tap hole is sealed up again using a mud gun which shoots a clay and refractory material back into the tap hole of the blast furnace.
In addition to blast furnaces, Casey sells many of the components used at the blast furnace including blast valves, tap hole drills, mud guns and gas valves. Contact Casey Equipment for a quote on used blast furnace components for sale.
