Casey sells various types of used entry and exit coil processing equipment components for hot and cold strip mills and processing lines. While many components fall under a specific category in a coil to coil line, items such as stitchers and notchers are stand alone units that are often replaced and upgraded. Stichers are used to join the trailing end of one coil to the leading end of a second coil. Notchers are used to clearly define where a joint between two coils is located. These joints are subsequently removed once processing has been completed. A peeler is normally incorporated into a payoff reel but is sometimes a standalone unit. It peels the initial wrap of a coiled sheet and threads it to a pinch roll in nearly all coil processing lines. A peeler or threader unit retracts away from the payoff reel once the strip is guided and fed into the pinch roll. A threader can also be a standalone unit in a strip rolling mill or coil processing line. It uses a retractable chute that can pivot to meet the pass line of the recoiler. Most coil to coil processing lines incorporate the same types of machinery on the entry and exit ends of the various process lines. Most lines will have an entry section consisting of a payoff reel, peeler, pinch roll, entry flattener (to remove coil set), a sticher or welder, and a notcher, if the strip is side trimmed and various other components. The center sections of a coil to coil processing line could be used to slit, pickle, galvanize, rewind or inspect the coil. The exit end of a coil processing line may have a cross cut shear, pinch rolls, threader chute, tension reel and Askania guidance system for uniform coil wraps.
