Casey has used pouring reels for sale that were manufactured by Morgan and Danieli. Pouring reels are used for coiling hot rolled products that are either a section other than a round or a round whose diameter is too large for a laying head. Pouring reels derive their name from the pouring of the finished product into a rotating circular drum. The pouring reel drum is fitted with concentric pegs that protrude upward from the drum baseplate. Rows of pegs are spaced at varying distance from the center of the rotating drum. The distance from the center of the drum to inner or outer edge of the pegs determines the final inside and outside diameter of the circular coil. Once the finished end of the rolled product enters the pouring reel, a hydraulic cylinder underneath the pouring reel drum raises baseplate above the drum pegs allowing the finished coil to be removed from the mechanism. Most modern mills are equipped with two pouring reels and the rolled product is alternated between the pouring reels to allow continuous operation of the rolling mill. Pinch rolls are installed immediately prior to the pouring reel delivery pipe to extract the tail of the rolled product once it leave the final rolling stand while maintaining the delivery speed. A Garret Coiler is also another name for a pouring reel. Contact Casey Equipment for a quote on used pouring reels for sale.
